Did you know that Brisbane is only a short 30 minute drive from Springfield Lakes? Otherwise you can jump on the regular train service from Springfield Central Station and be in Brisbane CBD 41 minutes later.
Brisbane city is the perfect city for a stroll along the network of riverside pathways that meander along the river with places to stop and take in the beauty of the city. Stroll through the City Botanic Gardens, take in some heritage-listed buildings such as Treasury Casino, City Hall, Customs House and Old Government House, the iconic Story Bridge and be astonished by the steep cliff faces at Kangaroo Point.
Amble across one of the pedestrian bridges to South Bank Parklands, a sprawling 17 hectares of lush parklands. South Bank features world-class eateries, stunning river views and hundreds of delightful events all year round making it the perfect place to spend a day.
South Bank encompasses the Performing Arts Centre, Museum, Exhibition & Convention Centre, Queensland Art Gallery and the Wheel of Brisbane. Visitors can ride The Wheel of Brisbane, visit the Nepalese Pagoda, which was originally brought to Brisbane for Expo 88, take a dip in Streets Beach and marvel at The Arbour, a bougainvillea clad steel awning that spans 1 km or just stroll through the weekend arts and crafts market stalls.
Jump aboard a City Ferry and see the city from the river. There are many ferry stops located alongside the river.
